"Sentiments Unannounced but in Tired Eyes" began as just solo piano, but as time wore on, I decided to try expanding upon it with some synths of my own design. I wanted to do something different. I opened up Reason and started messing around with a synth until I created a sound as open and atmospheric as the rest of the piece. I didn't want it to intrude, I wanted the synth to coat the piece gently and work with the acoustic piano. I've been very fond of this piece, since it came from a very personal space. I was confused, wondering where I fit in with music and the world, so I wrote this piece late at night with just the accompaniment of a ticking clock. Now, after some time has passed and I still try to find my footing in life, I decided to take this piece and update it a bit. I still haven't figured out where I am headed, but this piece can morph with me as I continue to try and figure it out.
